Lilongwe, Malawi · District 9210

Fifty-six years of service in Malawi's capital

We are professionals from across Lilongwe who put our trades to work on the problems our city and country actually have — clean water, sight restored, children in school, and dignity for people the formal economy overlooks.

Who we are

A club of doers, not of donors

The Rotary Club of Lilongwe was chartered in 1970, in a capital city that was then only four years old. Fifty-six years on we are the largest club in Rotary District 9210, a district spanning Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and northern Mozambique.

Our members are lawyers, engineers, doctors, bankers, architects, contractors and entrepreneurs. What we bring to a partnership is not only funding but the professional capacity to scope a project properly, the volunteer base to deliver it, and access to The Rotary Foundation's global grant machinery, which regularly multiplies what a local contribution can achieve.

We meet every Tuesday at 12:20 at the Bingu International Convention Centre. Visiting Rotarians and prospective members are always welcome.

Join us, or work with us

If you are a professional who wants your skills to do more than earn a living, come to a Tuesday fellowship. If you are an organisation looking for a delivery partner in Malawi with fifty-six years of standing, we should talk.
